Complying With the Virginia-Graeme Baker Pool & Spa Safety ActEffective December 20th 2008, all commercial swimming pools and spas are to be compliant with the Virginia-Graeme Baker safety law. This is a federal mandatory requirement for the installation of anti-entrapment drain covers and other devises administered by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. Currently the law applies to all existing and new commercial swimming pools, wading pools and spas in hotels, apartment complexes, and fitness clubs as well as on public property. These pools and spas must have drain covers and other devices or systems that meet anti-entrapment standards set by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers or ASME and the American National Standards Institute or ANSI. Aqua Palace will provide you with the latest information and resources on how you can make your pool VGB compliant. Please contact us with any specific questions. (712) 329-4180 aquapalace@aol.com |
