Hot Tubs, Spas, and Jacuzzis: What's the difference?
March 14/2020

What's the Difference Between a Hot Tub, Spa, and Jacuzzi?

Over the years, the term hot tub and spa mean relatively the same. Back in the day, a hot tub referred more to a wooden barrel or an old school form of water therapy. Now days, most manufactures use the terms loosely and refer to both at different times. With Google searches becoming the #1 way people search for items, the term spas is more associated with Day Spas, or a facility you would visit for a nominal fee on occasion, not necessarily referring to your own private retreat. Regardless what you prefer to call it – we will know what you mean!

The term Jacuzzi has also been somewhat associated with hot tubs and spas, however a Jacuzzi is technically a form of whirlpool bath that you have in your house or bathroom. This term is typically reserved for such applications in which you drain the water after each use, not on a quarterly basis.
