Can I use play ground sand in my swimming pool filter?
March 18/2020 It is not recommended to use any form of play ground sand or landscaping sand in your swimming pool sand filter. These filter systems are only designed to operate correctly with #20 Grade Silica Sand. This type of sand is only sold at professional swimming pool retailers. Any other forms of sand that you might find, even if it says “swimming pool sand”, we would advise steering clear of them as they are not the correct size and grade of sand and could cause damage to your pool filter as well as cloudy/green water.

Tip: Make sure to check out and write down the information on your tag of your sand filter including: Brand, Model, Size, and Amount of Sand that is needed prior to coming in so we can make sure to get you the correct amount! Your filter system will not work properly if we have too much, or too little sand from the required level!
