Add a slide to your aboveground swimming pool for more fun!
March 08/2020 Aboveground pools provide considerable enjoyment on their own, but if you have children at home, you will probably hear requests for a slide to be added to the pool soon after set-up is completed!
There are things to consider before purchasing a slide for your aboveground pool.
First, the structure and durability of your pool. The pool structure needs to be sturdy enough to withstand the quake that occurs when a person goes down the slide and enters the water. The quake will make the walls bulge out and then suck back in. The results of this water movement can make the walls collapse on lower quality pools.
Secondly, the size of your pool needs to be adequate to handle entry into the water from the slide. To meet regulations, slide manufacturers today make the plume of the slide so the rider is slid across the surface of the pool rather than deep into the water. Having sufficient surface area to accommodate this entry into the water is critical for safety.
Last, you need to make sure you have deck space available to securely attach the slide. Mounting the slide in an area that will make it easy to use yet safely away from other ladders or steps entering the pool is a must. We don’t want lanes of merging traffic meeting in calamity!
