Well, that ‘clean-looking’ filter may deceive you, and cause you more stress than you’d bargained for. And additional stress is NOT something you need when it comes to owning a hot tub. After all, your hot tub is the place where you go to relax, so it’s important to make the process of maintaining your hot tub as stress-free as possible. Below we have provided three tips for keeping your hot tub filter at optimal performance.
Rinse and Repeat!
While relaxing in your hot tub is the top priority you do need to give time and attention to your filter to keep your relaxing machine working. Rinsing your hot tub filter with water on a monthly basis is the bare minimum requirement. Rinsing out your filter will help remove the residue such as lotions oils and bacteria that will build up during use of your hot tub.

The extra soak, along with cleaner filter, will help remove some residues that are harder to remove such as calcium.
Suggestion: Soaking your filter each time when refilling your hot tub will give you an opportunity to determine if the filter needs to be replaced completely.
