March 08/2020 Aromatherapy has long been used to not only to produce healthful benefits, but to invoke memories and moods than can only be captured using all of your senses, including smell. We all know hot tubs provide a relaxing and soothing environment, and adding a spa fragrance can create so much more! With hectic daily schedules, to-lists that are too long to catch up and cloudy days upon us, our bodies need an extra push to experience true relaxation. In meditation classes they teach you how to quiet your mind, relax your body and visualize a calm surrounding to find inner peace. Sometimes in life our intentions are to truly relax, while the hot tub may loosen your muscles, your mind can be running a million miles a minute. Having a relaxing fragrance can help your mind concentrate less on coordinating the ‘kiddos’ car pool and more on giving your mind a moment to unwind.
Spa fragrances can add a soothing, energizing, romantic, or peaceful aroma to your next soak in seconds. One of the most popular scents for relaxation is lavender. Massage Therapists, Yoga Centers as well as nurseries have been using lavender to help their customers experience true bliss. The name Lavender by itself automatically brings me to relaxation as I am writing this article. For those of you that believe a scent cannot help you unwind we did a bit of technical research. Some sources assert that “lavender is associated with feelings contentment, improved cognitive performance (some measures) and mood as well, and has also shown other mild sedative and calming effects. It’s also been shown to reduce cortisol levels... and promote deep sleep in men and women, as well. This can be a great choice for anyone trying to relax for sleep or feel more calm and relaxed during the day.”
