When does my inground swimming pool liner need replaced?
March 18/2020

The length of time an inground pool liner will last depends on a variety of factors including:

Weather – Hail, very acidic rains, high phosphate rains among many other weather conditions can play a big role in how long your pool liner will last.
Wear and Tear – Come wear and tear comes from normal maintenance, cleaning, and playing in the pool which can cause wear patterns in the material of the liner.
How many punctures might already exist – If there are multiple areas that have already been patched, that will cause the strength and integrity of the liner to be compromised.
Chemical damage – Too high of chlorine can cause the liner to bleach in some areas, which actually affects more than just the “curb appeal” of the liner, but also the integrity of it as well. Low chlorine will cause algae to form, but even once it has been killed it can embed itself deep in the liner.
Incorrect pH deterioration – High or Low pH will cause premature deterioration of the liner and also can fade the colors.
Quality of liner – There are different qualities of how they are constructed (not just the gauge of liner but how the manufacture actually builds the liners as well as the quality of material that is used.

On average, a typical inground pool liner will last 6-8 years.
