Saunas are a great way to fend off colds this winter (& anytime throughout the year)! I’m sure you are wondering, how do saunas really help? The heat actually induces a fever like symptom in your body, raising your body temperature up and thus creating more white blood cells to fend off viruses, bacteria and germs. Fantastic isn’t it!?
Saunas are more than just a box that gets hot!
Many still do not fully understand how saunas work and how beneficial they can be for your immune system and even your waistline! Saunas are truly more than just a wooden box that gets hot! The dry heat from the Infrared sauna is very therapeutic and allows you to be able to take a book in and read or enjoy listening to music or even watching a movie, while you receive the therapeutic benefits of the dry heat.
How long should I sit in a dry sauna?
It is recommended to slowly increase the time you sit in the sauna on a regular basis. When first starting out, it’s recommended to stay in for 10 mins or so and slowly work your way up to 30-40 mins per day. Most sauna owners will use their sauna 3-4 times per week. Consistent use of your infrared sauna will also help to de-stress, detoxify, improve circulation and lower your blood pressure!
Not sure about sweating?
Everyone is usually trying to cover up sweating during the day; no one likes that smell! But do you realize that sweating is actually a natural way for our bodies to get rid of toxins? Saunas simply invoke the natural element of sweating when you are contained in a temperature controlled environment for a period of time. It’s natural! Enjoy a sauna on a regular basis and start reaping some of the benefits of sweating!
Benefits of a sauna
Saunas are so effective at removing toxins, helping you to lose weight, relieve joint pain, increase your blood circulation, rejuvenate your skin, relax your mind and body and improve your immune health! The benefits a sauna can provide are simply amazing. Did you know that a 30 min sauna session can burn around 600 calories? Or that the heat from an infrared sauna actually opens up your nasal passages so you can breathe better? That it helps to oxygenate the tissues in your body? Or that it can help with chronic fatigue? So awesome isn’t it!?
