Truth: Intex Pools Require More Maintenance than other Aboveground Pools!
March 14/2020

Everyone has seen the “blow up ring” pools literally “popping” up all over the place. If you are looking for an inexpensive pool to last just a few months, then you might have found your match. But did you know that this $300-$500 pool will cost you more to maintain than a traditional aboveground pool, such as our Aqua Palace soft sided pools? This inexpensive pool won’t be inexpensive for long….
Inadequate filtration system in a Pool will cost you more in chemicals...

The filter systems that they put on any of the inflatable pools are simply WAY undersized. It should be to no surprise to anybody, the manufactures are well aware of this too, that an inexpensive pool can not include the best type of filter possible for that low of a price. This is where the troubles with taking care of the pool will begin. Filtration and turnover rate, which measures how fast we can filter all of the water in the pool over in a 24 hr period of time, is the name of the game. Most of the inflatable pools will move apprx 5-8 gals per minute. The appropriate amount of water flow for any aboveground pool below 10,000 gals is 35-40 gpm (gallons per minute). Now you are able to see how inefficient those inexpensive pumps are. If you aren’t turning the water over fast enough, your water becomes stagnant and will require an excessive amount of chemicals to keep it clear. You will basically be supplementing the lack of the filter doing the proper job by adding additional chemicals to help aid the pool in maintaining its clarity. This can be dangerous because the sanitizer levels may be too high to safely let your kids swim. Instead of spending less than $200 on chemicals for the whole year with a traditional pool, such as these from Aqua Palace with the correct filter system on it, you could easily be spending $400-$500 for just chemicals alone. That is on top of all the headaches you will have to indure.

Headaches Induced by the Additional Care Required to Maintain Pool...
There is not an efficient way to vacuum an inexpensive Intex pool, which can become a real headache. Nobody wants to look outside and see the pool with all kinds of debris in it, nor does anybody want to swim in it when it’s that dirty! But when it comes to Intex pools, there simply is no easy way to clean that debris out. This is 100% related to the lack of filtration. The pumps are simply not big enough and cannot product enough suction or pressure to correctly move even a manual vacuum around and you will definitely not be able to use an automatic vac on these types of pools. So what you end up with is a pool that is virtually impossible to keep clean, from the debris on the bottom of the pool, the bugs and leaves floating on the surface, and the water clarity itself. When debris is left in the pool it’s a breeding ground for algae…just one more thing you will have to spend money on to clear up.

A Pool that is FUN with NO HEADACHES!
Looking for a pool that will provide more time relaxing then it does to maintain the pool? We’ve got you covered! Our aboveground pools will be more expensive than the “pop up” pools, but there is a good reason for that. Keep in mind, you can’t simply re-create what we provide and offer the same items at an extremely lower price. You ultimately get what you pay for, so if you are looking to save a few dollars now, keep in mind it will cost you even more dollars in the long run. If you spend a few extra dollars to start with, you will save more time and money then you know what to do with! Here’s to kicking your feet up in the pool and relaxing all summer long!
