5 More Hot Tub Products You Might Not Be Using (But Should Be!)

It is important to take your filters out monthly and rinse them off with the garden hose. Using a filter cleaner solution, such as Filter Fresh or Marquis Filter Cleaner, in which you soak the filters overnight before rinsing them off is recommended every 6 months. This filter cleaner product removes body oils, scale, and other grime that prohibits the filter from pulling out additional particles in the water and can also cause a restriction, now allowing your pumps or heater to operate correctly. After your filters have soaked over night, it is very important to rinse them off multiple times to insure all of the solution has been removed, prior to placing them back in your hot tub. Residual of the filter cleaner in your hot tub can cause foam if not properly rinsed.
pH Magic
pH bounce can sometimes drive you bonkers, but it doesn’t have to! If your pH fluctuates constantly, this is the magic product for you! Once you get your pH into the correct range and have maintained it there for 3-4 days with no fluctuations, you can simply add pH Magic to your hot tub water. This product will help to stabilizer your pH and prevent a lot of the bouncing back and forth that can occur. This dosage is good for the fill of your hot tub and will need to be repeated in another 3-4 months, once your hot tub has been drained and your pH is back in the correct range.
Fragrances
If you have not enjoyed any aromatherapies in your hot tub then you are for sure missing out! These fragrances have been created specifically for your hot tub and are perfectly safe with no side effects to you or your water! They also include a moisturizer which helps to keep your skin hydrated! There are tons of fragrances to choose from anywhere from tropical scents to traditional lavender and vanilla to fruity scents such as apple, strawberry and watermelon! A small capful of your favorite fragrance can be added each time you enter the hot tub and will last apprx 1-2 hrs. New filters
Your hot tub filters will last apprx 9-12 months with proper routine maintenance and chemical levels. Even if your filters still look clean and white after 9-12 months, they still need to be changed. The evidence of a hot tub filter breaking down can not be seen by the naked eye when it starts to happen. Internally, the filter pleats get dull like a razor and do not capture the particles in the water like they should. This can also cause a restriction in your hot tub, not allowing the pumps and or heater to operate as they should. If your filters become discolored, filter is cracked, or the band holding the pleats together comes apart, your filter is past due even if it has not reached the 9-12 month mark yet.

Protecting your hot tub cover from the inside and out is the best way to maintain your investment and your heat retention in your hot tub. 303 Protectant can be added to the topside of your hot tub cover, not only to clean the cover but to also protect it from the harmful rays of the sun. Use Pristine Mist on the underside of your cover to prevent mold and bacteria build up that will eat away at your cover. If you are not protecting your cover form the inside out, the cover will prematurely become water logged and dysfunctional.
