Removal or Trade in of Existing Hot Tub
March 08/2020 As your hot tub ages, it’s important to consider several factors when it comes to repairing the hot tub, disposing of it, or seeing if there is any trade in value to get into a newer spa. If you really love the hot tub and the condition of the shell and exterior of the hot tub are in good condition, it may be worth it to sink some money into the hot tub when it is needed. Disposing of the hot tub all together is an absolute last resort. Most hot tubs (depending on age, condition, and brand) do have some trade in value towards a newer unit! Here are your options in detail:
If you love the hot tub and the unit is not terrible old (8 years or less for most manufactures) it is usually worth putting a little bit of money in the upkeep and replacement of the major components. You must understand that once you get involved with replacing a single component, that there could be more components than just that one at fault. A quick replacement of a heater could lead the technician to find that your board and or pumps are not functioning properly and need to be replaced. At that time, you will either need to keep going with the repairs, regardless of how much it requires, or risk the loss of the parts already installed and the cost associated with that if you don’t wish to proceed. As the hot tubs age, it can be a love-hate relationship, but please understand that with any mechanical item, repairs are imminent and can not be avoided completely. There are ways to prevent damage from occurring, such as keeping your water chemistry always in balance, which can avoid costly unneeded repairs. The quality of the manufacture, how the hot tub was constructed and the expected longevity of the equipment that was installed by the manufacture all play into the long term estimated repair costs down the road. Purchasing a quality hot tub will prevent many costly repairs, saving you money in the long run!
Trade In:
If your hot tub is in good condition and free of major problems, there is probably trade in value to your existing hot tub towards a new unit at Aqua Palace! It is best if you can email us some pictures of the overall condition with an explanation of the manufacture, year, model, and current list of any problems or conditions (including if a new hot tub cover is needed) for further review. Once the pictures are submitted and reviewed, we would like to make an appointment for you to stop in and select the model that would best fit your needs. Once you have found the perfect model, we will be able to provide you with all of the trade in value details including all sales and discounts available at that time. When trading in a hot tub with Aqua Palace there are usually no additional expenses in picking up your existing hot tub or hauling it back (although some circumstances are a little trickier and can incur additional removal costs). If the hot tub is too old and there is simply too much wrong with it to warrant putting in several thousand dollars in repairs, it may be best to just dispose of the hot tub. If there are no parts that are in decent shape that can be salvaged for value, it may be best to discard the hot tub in its entirety. We recommend checking with your local trash company and or local recycling centers to see what their guidelines are for disposing a hot tub.
