What product can I use to remove a hot tub water ring?
March 08/2020 Tired of that frothy bath tub ring that appears at the waterline on your hot tub after each use? We will explain what it is caused from and how you can prevent it in the future - It’s easier than you think!
What causes this?
Typically a mixture of body oils, perspirants, make-up, hair products, perfumes, body lotions, and even detergents from your swim suits. All of these “ingredients” mixed together can cause a goopy mess that your hot tub is left to clean up later. On a Marquis hot tub, with our Constant Clean filtration system, we are able to pick up most of those products in the water and capture them in the filters. With heavy use or lack of certain chemicals, a small amount of residual can build up on the waterline of your hot tub.

How can I fix this?
Adding an enzyme remover to your hot tub routine weekly, at the rate of 1-2 oz per 100 gals of water, can solve most of these issues. If they persist, we may need to up the dosage or use multiple products to solve the issue. The best product for this is GLB Natural Clear or Spa Perfect and can be purchased in a pt, qt, or even gal size container. You can pour this product on a clean damp rag and wipe the waterline down as well, with no fears of leaving any further residue. Natural Clear is very functional and can even be used as a quick cleaning agent to wipe down your hot tub when it is empty, in between refills. You don’t have to worry about wiping this product back out prior to refilling your hot tub, which can save you SO much time! Add this product to your weekly maintenance routine and say Good-Bye to that gross bath tub ring for good!
